SAMPLE PHYSICS WEEK

UNIT 1 ~ 1.1-1.2 & Pendulum Lab

DAY 1

• Gather: string, meter stick or other ruler, paper clip, 9-12 large washers, masking tape or any tape
• Note: You will need a table/dresser/flat surface where you can tape the meter stick for the activity
• Print the Study Guide
  
• Read Chapter 1 Section 1 (1.1, pages 3-9)
• Watch the video for Lesson 1.1 and complete the study guide
• Complete Study Question #4 
• In your notebook, write the chapter and section followed by  “Exercises” (ex. 1.1 Exercises)
• Exercises for Chapter 1 begin on page 18
• All written answers require complete sentences

DAY 2

• Read 1.2 (pages 9-14)
• Watch the video for Lesson 1.2 and complete the study guide.
• Complete Study Questions #1,2,5-7,13
• In your notebook, write the chapter and section followed by  “Exercises” (ex. 1.1 Exercises)
• Exercises for Chapter 1 begin on page 1
• All written answers require complete sentences

DAY 3

• Read “Experiment 1 The Pendulum Experiment” pages 346-348
• Watch the video for the Lab Preparation Lesson and complete the study guide
• Print the unit 1 lab handout and set up you lab notebook (Instructions in the "setting up your lab notebook" section of the handout)

DAY 4

• Before class: 
• Gather: string, meter stick or other ruler, paper clip, 9-12 large washers, masking tape or any tape
  
• Attend LIVE class

DAY 5

• Submit the Unit materials in the following order: Study guide, Exercises (in order by lesson), Unit 1 lab notebook pages (Pendulum lab data collection)
• Take the Quiz and repeat for mastery
