Monday, November 11th is Veterans' Day in the United States.
Let us pray for the honored dead, the wounded, the past and the active troops of our nation.
We call upon the intercession of St. Martin, the soldier, whose feast we keep today.
UNIT 11:
PARENTS FORUM: We used the phone app Slack, during summer camp to, generally, good reviews. We have just repurposed that channel as a general forum for parents. It is especially meant to help foster the planning for meetups, events, and trips. It is free to use and is being monitored by parents, participation is purely voluntary, ideas are already being posted. Summer camp parents will already have accounts set up in the channel. The app can be setup to work on a phone or computer.
Click here for the invitation link (for parents, only).
TIP of the MORNING: "The prudent man considers things afar off, in so far as they tend to be a help or a hindrance to that which has to be done at the present time. Hence it is clear that those things which prudence considers stand in relation to this other, as in relation to the end." Saint Thomas, Aquinas, ST 2.2.47.1
To see things prudently, ask yourself: "How does what I do right now tend to the goals I have for school, for life, and for salvation?"
POEM of the WEEK: Here is "The Arrow and the Song" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Recited by Adele Radakichenane.
Student and Instructor contributions for "Poem of the Week" are welcome (sung poetry is welcome, too). Send a message to Mr. Rolling with "Poem of the Week," and the title and author of the poem you would like to recite.
