NOTICE: Time Change ~ We began Daylight Savings Time on March 9th
"Pilgrim Kneeling" by Egron Lundgren (1845)
Good Morning Everyone! Here are the notes for the week:
Ember Days: This week is the Spring Embertide. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are days of especial penitence within a season of especial penitence. HERE is an informative article about Ember Days. These are not required but reflect a wonderful tradition that dates from the third century. Don't forget:
Fasting days and Emberings be
Lent, Whitsun, Holyrood, and Lucie.
Midterm Exams: We have Latin exams this week. Prioritize these, study hard, and do well for the glory of God!
CLT: All those who are signed up already should be in the CLT suite on the school site. Please double check and let us know, if you are not in.
Sign up is available for the CLT 7, 8, 10 and the full CLT. Please sign up with us, if you can (find the links on the top right of the Dash).
It is good to measure ourselves against external markers on occasion, and the information is helpful to both parents and the school. Elementary level tests are available through the Press for the first time this year, as well.
Poem of the Week:
"A Mhuire Mháthair" by Unknown. Sung by Felicity Shields. We had some technical difficulty with the recording, but Felicity sings it beautifully.
By special request, I am reposting the recording from UNIT 17. It was not playable by everyone at that time. Here is "For Love of Me" by the Benedictines of Mary. Sung by Mary Wagner.
Student and Instructor contributions for "Poem of the Week" are welcome (sung poetry is welcome, too). Send a message to Mr. Rolling with "Poem of the Week," and the title and author of the poem you would like to recite
Yearbook Update: We are nearing the deadline for uploading head shots. We will use the pictures from enrollment if there is no better picture available. It is a real kindness to the school community so please do take a minute and turn in a picture today!
League Update: Thank you all for your patience. Sometimes the new Challenges get delayed due to other needs within the school, and such has been the case. Our Lenten challenges will be up today!
Play Some Bloomin' Chess! The wonderful Mr. Bloom of Bloomin Chess is offering another dedicated Oxrose/Schola Rosa chess opportunity. Class meets Wednesdays from 1-2 PM Central and begins on April 2. Here is the >LINK< for more information.
